Zane Zweifel

Zane Zor Zweifel , age 86 of Montello passed away Sunday, March 20, 2022 at Martha’s Assisted Living in Princeton.  Zane was born on May 14, 1935, the son of Homer and Helen (Frick) Zweifel.  His formative years were spent in New Glarus and Montello, graduating from Montello High School in 1953.  Zane furthered his education at Madison Vocational School.  After graduation, he worked for Ace Foods at American Family Insurance Company in Madison for a number of years.

After moving back to Montello, Zane resided at Joanie’s Home and worked at the Opportunity Center and Diverse Options in Montello.  In 2021, he moved to Martha’s Assisted Living in Princeton.  Zane was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Montello.

Zane is survived by his sister, Sandra Kilbride-Becker of Fall River, nephews: George (Leslie) Kilbride of Sun Prairie, Mark (Naomi Courtemanche) Zweifel of Minneapolis, MN and nieces: Mary (Darrell) Kromm of Reeseville and Julie (John) Pluemer of Platteville.  He is also survived by several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Zane is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Edward (Marge), brothers-in-law: George Kilbride and Richard Becker, nephew, Michael Kilbride and niece, Margaret Kilbride.

A funeral service for Zane Zweifel will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Crawford Funeral Home in Montello.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the hour of service.  Pastor Lisa Gilbert will preside and burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in Monticello.
