Wilma Winona Krueger, age 87, of Montello, passed away on Friday, July 2, 2010 at the Hospice House of Hope in Fond du Lac, WI. She was born in Grand Marsh, WI on December 20, 1922 to Earl and Jessie (Thorne) Ward. Wilma was married to Herbert Krueger of Montello until he passed away in 1971. She was a devoted member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Montello; she spent many hours in private prayer and working in her daily devotional book. Wilma was an avid sports fan; she followed the Packers, Brewers, and Badgers as well as NASCAR and golf very closely. She had a tradition of attending Brewer home openers. Tail gate parties were a part of almost every Brewer game that she attended. She loved nature and enjoyed spending time outdoors. Her favorite place to travel was to northern Wisconsin and the Sea Gull Motel in Bayfield, where she created many fond memories. Other interests included fishing, gardening, reading the daily newspaper and doing cross-word puzzles. She also immensely enjoyed getting together with family and friends for backyard barbeques. Survivors include: one sister, Irma Zellmer of Wauwatosa, two children: Dean (Peg) of Tomah and Gloria (Bill) Tucker of Montello, three grandchildren: Kimberly (Brad) Mengel, Megan Seaholm and Michael Seaholm. She is also survived by one great-grandson, Kyle Mengel as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Preceding Wilma in death are her parents, her husband, her siblings, Robert Ward and Lottie Wojtycski, and her nephew Larry Hoskins. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday July 7, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. at St John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 313 E. Montello St. in Montello. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service. Rev. Pete Zietlow will officiate and burial will follow at the Eastside Cemetery in Montello. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established by the family.
