Walter Thole

Walter V. Thole, age 91 of Montello passed away Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Villa Pines Nursing Home in Friendship. Walter was born in California on May 7, 1933 to Henry and Mae (Cass) Thole. His father was a traveling preacher and Walter moved several times settling in Michigan. On March 13, 1968, he married Patsy Lou (Lienke) Will in Rockford, IL. They resided in Stoughton while Walter worked at Uniroyal in Stoughton; retiring after 23 years of faithful employment. Walter and Patsy Lou moved to Montello in 1997, in retirement Walter enjoyed working for Adesa. He had a knack for electronics and a love of old cars. 

Walter is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patsy Lou and four children: Dawn Depriest of Michigan, Walter Steven of Arizona, Dan (Shannon) of Florida and Roxanne Abraham of Arena. He is also survived by a stepson, Gary Will of Madison, eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, sister, Lavina Krumroy along with many nieces and nephews.

Walter is preceded in death by his parents, infant son, Craig Thole, three brothers: Benjamin, Henry and Calvin, sister, Josie and stepchildren: Otto Will, Scott Will, Randall Will and Michelle Chamberlin.

A celebration of Walter Thole’s life will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Crawford Funeral Home in Montello. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the hour of service. Rev. Baxter Exum will officiate. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
