Vernice Streich

Vernice M. Streich (nee Rosanske), age 88 of Harrisville passed away peacefully Monday evening, December 3, 2012 at Divine Savior Hospital in Portage. Vernice was born on the family farm in Harrisville on September 16, 1924 and attended school in Harrisville. She married Albin Streich on October 12, 1946; he preceded her in death in November of 2010. Vernice and Albin lived their entire lives in Harrisville and were lifelong and dedicated members of St. John's Lutheran Church. She lived for her garden in the summer and her jigsaw puzzles in the winter. Vernice was employed by Brakebush Bros. and later was the first woman hired at the Westfield Hydraulics Plant. She enjoyed traveling with her family and was a very involved member of the Harrisville Community, she will be greatly missed. Vernice leaves behind her son, Ken (Lynette) of Montello and one grandson, Chad (Brianne) Webster of Beaver Dam as well as two great-grandsons, Jack and Seth. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Ervin Streich of Budsin and his children: Cheryl (Dan) Troost of Montello, Joanne Streich of Middleton and Dennis (Connie) Streich of Montello. Vernice is further survived by her nephew, Howard (Shirley) Rosanske. In addition to her parents, Vernice is preceded in death by her husband, Albin, brother, Lester (Elda) Rosanske and sister-in-law, Lucille Streich. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Harrisville. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service. Rev. Blaine Niskanen will preside and burial will follow at the Harrisville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family.
