Ursula Scherdel

Ursula Ruth Scherdel, age 79 of Oxford passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at her home. Ursula was born in Oggersheim, Germany on June 24, 1945 and was raised by her grandmother. She came to the United States in 1968 and lived in the Milwaukee area. Ursula married Willi Wissler in 1963, together they had two children and later divorced. She resided in Hartland, Wales and Waukesha for many years before relocating to Oxford in February of 2005. 

Ursula’s biggest passion was cooking. She not only cooked for her family but also made a career out of it working at several nursing homes, a correctional facility and even catering big events such as weddings for friends. Ursula will be remembered for her kind heart and caring nature, often opening up her home to friends in need. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and in the last year her first great-grandchild brought her so much joy. 

Ursula is survived by two children: Petra (Johnny) Gottschalk of Westfield and Mark (Molly) Wissler of Waukesha as well as three grandchildren: Abby (Josh), Meghan and Miah (Mitch). She is also survived by great-grandson, Myles. 

Private services for Ursula will be held at a later date.
