Thomas Owens

Thomas Lee Owens, age 45 of Montello passed away Monday, May 5, 2014 at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison after a courageous battle with a rare blood disorder. Tom was born in Portage on October 29, 1968 to Llewellyn and Marie (Kluender) Owens. He graduated from Montello High in 1986 and furthered his education at UW-Stout. Tom has been a dedicated employee of AMPI in Portage for 23 years. Tom enjoyed hunting, fishing and helping work the family farm. We are grateful that Tom will live on because he signed his driver's license to be an organ donor and it was a request that his family honored. Tom is survived by his four brothers: Llewellyn Jr. "Butch", Peter, Jeff, all of Montello and Andy (Deb) of Janesville as well as two sisters: Pam Owens of Minneapolis, MN and Christine Owens of Montello. He is also survived by nieces: Sara and Angie and nephew, Donald as well as other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and dear friends. Tom is further survived by two special chocolate labs, Starsky and Hutch. Long Live Mom #1. Tom is preceded in death by his parents and older brother, Ronald. A funeral service for Tom will be held on Friday May 9, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Montello. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home and again on Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Pastor Stephen Bowie will preside and burial will follow the service at the Moundville Cemetery, town of Moundville, Marquette County. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family.
