Sue Travis

Sue Ann Travis, age 77 of Montello, formerly of the Chicago area passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at Berlin Memorial Hospital. She was born on July 30, 1933 in Morganton, North Carolina to Lester and Marjorie (Custis) Shell. She married John Travis in Jonas Ridge, NC on July 31, 1961 and together they lived and worked in the Chicago area until recently moving to Montello to be closer to family. Sue was a very kind person; she enjoyed taking walks, gardening and also animals. Although she and John didn't have children of their own she loved her family very much and enjoyed spending holidays together. She will be greatly missed. Survivors include: her husband John, of almost 50 years, brother, Johnnie (Hazel) Shell of North Carolina and two brother-in-laws, Marty (Irene) Travis of Montello and Ken (Sandy) Travis of Schaumburg, Il. She is also survived by her nieces and nephew, and her great-nieces and great-nephews and special friend Barbara Wagner. Sue is preceded in death by her parents, niece, Joanne Shell and other relatives. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 8, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Pastor Sue Bryce will preside and burial will follow at the Montello City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to The Residences on Forest Lane, 253 Forest Lane, Montello, WI 53949.
