Stanislaw Polak

Stanislaw "Stan" Polak, age 68 of Montello passed away surrounded by his family early Friday morning, December 26, 2014 at his home. He was born on July 13, 1946 in Olszowka, Poland to Ignacy and Maria (Gryz) Polak. Stan moved to the United States with his family in 1992; for the last 21 years he has been a faithful employee of Gary Bula Farms in Grand Marsh. Stan was devoted to his family and his Catholic Faith. His hobbies included spending time with his family and working on cars. Stan leaves behind his wife of 43 years, Maria and his seven children: Dorota (Wojtek) Maka, Marzena (Tomasz) Gielczynski, Agnieszka (Douglas) Salter, Grzegorz (Katarzyna), Katarzyna (Daniel) Zalewski, Maria-Gabriela Polak, Krystian Polak. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Daniel, Patryk, Daria, Julia, Steven and Kendall, three sisters: Maria, Zosia and Hania and two brothers: Jan and Antoni. Stan is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Helena Koscielniak. A visitation will be held on Monday, December 29, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Montello. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 31st at 11:00 a.m. St. Zachary Catholic Church in Des Plaines, IL. The family will receive friends and relatives at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Following the mass, interment will take place in Poland.
