Shirley Werdin

Shirley Ann Werdin, age 78 of Montello passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, June 17, 2014 at The Residences on Forest Lane in Montello. Shirley was born in Ripon to David and Rosabelle (Bilderbach) Teela on November 8, 1935. She graduated from Ripon High School and later attended cosmetology school in Milwaukee. Shirley married Donald Werdin on September 3, 1953 and together they raised three children. Shirley owned and operated Shirley Ann's Beauty Shop (later known as Shirley Ann's Salon) in Montello for over thirty years. Upon retirement she moved to Arizona where she enjoyed attending classic car shows and Chicago Cubs games; returning recently to be closer to family. Shirley loved to travel and especially the trips she took with her family. Shirley is survived by her three children: Kim (Joe) Calnin of Montello, Dennis (fiancAC. Angela Gregory) of Montello and Michael (Kyle) of Eau Claire as well as six grandchildren: Erin (Eric) Siegel, Callie (Craig) Oren, Andrew, Kevin, Christopher and Austin Werdin. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren: Isaiah, James, Luke, Cylas and Asher as well as two sisters-in-law: Ellen Teela and Kathy Teela. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Anthony and eight siblings: Robert, Dean, Jack, June (Gary), Betty (LaVerne), Beverly, William and Jerry (Betty) and special friend, Don. A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, June 20, 2014 from 4:00 until 7:00p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Montello. Private family inurnment will be held at the Montello City Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in Shirley's name.
