Our beautiful Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, Shirley Lavonn Bean, passed away and ascended to heaven on March 9, 2023 in Greensboro, Georgia at the age of 86.
Shirley was born March 29, 1936 and grew up in Montello, Wisconsin where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Sherman Bean. She lead a very active life rearing a family, coordinating a major move from state-to-state every 3 years as Sherman was continuously promoted and keeping the family settled in each new town. Shirley enjoyed regularly entertaining with family, friends and Sherman’s work associates.
Shirley is survived by her loving son, Michael (Connie) Bean of Greensboro, GA.; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Bean of Barrington, IL.; grandchildren: Christopher (Juliana), Ryan, Patrick, Stephen (Corinne); great grandchildren: Boyer, Austyne, Dominic; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Shirley was preceded in death by her mother and father, Wilma and Edwin Bornick, her husband, Sherman, and her son, S. Keith Bean.
Shirley loved to talk and laugh with people and was known as a very sweet, honest and caring individual. She would light up a room with laughter and smiles whenever she entered.
A memorial service for Shirley Bean will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Montello. A visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until the hour of service. Pastor Lisa Gilbert will preside and inurnment will follow at the Montello City Cemetery.
