Sandra “Sandy” Ann Klapper, age 81 of Montello passed away peacefully on Monday, September 26, 2022, surrounded by family at the Montello Care Center. Sandy was born in Beaver Dam on October 17, 1940 to Ray and Ruth (Crown) Walters. She graduated from Montello High School and married Robert Klapper on November 28, 1959 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Beaver Dam. Bob and Sandy resided in Beaver Dam, Neshkoro, Milwaukee, New Berlin, finally settling in Montello in 1970.
Sandy and Bob owned Lakeside Bar and Klapper Realty, each for seven years. Sandy retired from Ray-O-Vac in 2000 after 24 years of employment. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, crocheting, playing Euchre and camping. Sandy also loved entertaining the family playing the organ and accordion, while Bob serenaded us with his lovely singing. Bob and Sandy enjoyed their trips to Florida for the winter months for over 20 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sandy truly enjoyed her life.
Sandy is survived by her husband, Robert and four children: Dennis (Becky), Debra (Darrell) Buchholz, Daniel (Andrea), Dina (Nathan) Schultz all of Montello. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Connor (Emily), Emma (fiancé, Joe Foyt), Matt (Tasha), Michelle, Aaron, Jesse, Tiffany and Sophie (Spencer Jones) as well as four great grandchildren: Deacon Klapper, Dekker Buchholz, Charlotte Jones, and Avery Jones. Sandy is further survived by her brother, Ken and sister, Ginger and other extended family members.
Sandy is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Peggy and grandson, Sean.
A funeral service for Sandra Klapper will be held on Friday, September 30, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Montello. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the hour of service at the church. Rev. Pete Zitleow will preside and burial will follow at the Montello City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to: St. John’s Lutheran Church or Little Lambs, 313 E. Montello Street, Montello, WI 53949.
The family would like to thank the Montello Care Center and Agrace Hospice Care. But most of all, the family would like to thank the Lord for allowing Sandy to come to know her Savior Jesus.
