Samuel 'Sam' Peacock, age 63, of Packwaukee, passed away surrounded by his family at Meriter Hospital in Madison on Sunday evening, May 2, 2010. He was born on September 13, 1946 in Milwaukee, WI to Frank and Bernice (Bartels) Peacock. Sam was the owner and operator of the Call of the Wild Campground in Packwaukee along with his wife Meta (nee Schreindl) since 1992. He had an extreme love for the sport of stock car racing, music and he also liked horses. Sam leaves behind his: wife, five children: Mary (Kerry) Worzella of Kewaskum, Traci (Ed) Strand of New Berlin, Wendy Hurst of Westfield, Melissa (Rod) Hayward of Neenah, and Anthony (Robyn) Peacock of Greenfield. He is also survived by ten grandchildren: Josey, Karly, Alex, Nikki, LeAnne, Jennifer, Brandon, Samantha, Delaney, and Drake. He is further survived by two brothers: Dave of Fond du Lac and Jack (Maxine) of Milwaukee. Preceding Sam in death are his parents. A memorial service for Sam will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at the Crawford Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 4:30 p.m. until the hour of service. Father Michael Richel will officiate. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
