Ronald F. "Ron" Yurek, age 70 of Neshkoro/Germania passed away unexpectedly early Wednesday morning, April 9, 2014 at his home. Ron was born in Chicago, IL to Frank and Rose (Jelenowski) Yurek on October 28, 1943. Ron graduated from Fenton High School and went on to work as a union electrician in the Chicago Area for 50 years. He married Joann Badaluco on January 25, 1991 in DuPage County, IL and together in 2001 they retired to their home near Comstock Lake. Ron was a ham radio operator since the age of 12 and communicated with friends around the world. He also enjoyed watching the birds, turkeys and deer that came into his backyard. Ron leaves behind his wife Joann, his mother Rose of Rockford, IL and two children: Kimberly Yurek and Daniel (special friend Randee) both of Rockford, IL and five step-children: James (Kimberly) DeLeo of Glen Ellyn, IL, Angela (Roy) Kestner of Glendale Heights, IL, Angel Davis of Mesa, AZ, Dominick (Angela) DeLeo of Lombard, IL and Jahn (special friend Nicole) DeLeo of Amboy, IL. He is also survived by one grandson Caden and five step-grandchildren: Alexander, Sophia, Cheyenne, Lola Bella and Ruby Rose. Ron is further survived by his sister Joan (Jim) Ibsen, nieces: Jennifer and April and the mother of his children, Susan Siek as well as other relatives and friends. Ron is preceded in death by his father and his best friend Bob Sample. Following Ron's wishes, he will be cremated with a celebration of his life to be held at a later date.
