Robert Taus

Robert “Bob” John Taus, age 77 of Montello passed away unexpectedly Saturday, November 30, 2024 at his home. Bob was born in Marinette and spent the first five years of his life on a farm in Crivitz; then his family moved to West Allis. He graduated from West Milwaukee High School in 1966 and married Judith “Judy” Scholz on June 8, 1968 in Milwaukee. Bob worked at Allis Chalmers and finished his career as a welder for the City of West Allis, retiring after over 25 of faithful employment. Bob and Judy relocated to rural Montello in 2004.

Bob was a true outdoorsman who found joy in fishing, hunting and the simple beauty of nature. He could often be found idling through the woods watching the wildlife and enjoying his surroundings. He had a love of classic cars and spent countless hours restoring and tinkering with them in his garage. One of his greatest joys was teaching and sharing his love of shooting with this grandson. 

Bob is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judy and one daughter, Lisa Morrison of Henderson, NV along with his grandson, Stone Morrison. He is also survived by his siblings: Jim, Hilda Simpson and Marilyn Hauf as well as his brother-in-law, Jerry Maki and several other extended family members.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters: Carol Maki and Judy (Sherman) Wheeler.
