Patrick Tierney

Patrick “Pat” Jeffrey Tierney, age 68 of Montello passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at his home.  Pat was born in Grayslake, Illinois on November 26, 1955 to John and Madeleine (O’Byrne) Tierney.  He graduated from Glenbard North High School in 1973 and went to work for the Board of Trades for several year. Pat moved to rural Montello in the early 1990’s.  He was employed by a division of Pitney-Bowes based in Chicago.  He was a member of the Shields Town Board and enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.  Pat loved to travel and dogs most notably the breed of English Field Cocker. 

Pat is survived by five siblings: John, Ariel (John) Kiple, James (Teresa), Jan Richards and Lisa Murphy as well as many extended family members.  He is preceded in death by his parents.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Patrick Tierney will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Montello.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the hour of mass.  Father Savio Yerasani will preside and inurnment will follow at the Shields Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Patrick’s name are preferred to: Budda Box Against Cancer, P.O. 591, Montello, WI 53949.
