Patricia Gessner

Patricia “Pat” Ann Gessner, age 79 of rural Montello passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at Aspirus Divine Savior Hospital in Portage.  Pat was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Donald and Marie (Mount) Pointer on February 2, 1944.  She was raised in Milwaukee and attended Riverside High School.  Pat married Gary Zernia and together they had three children and later divorced.  She always loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing which led her to build a home on her property in the Town of Newton.  On March 6, 2009, she married James “Jamie” Gessner and together they have enjoyed many adventures together.   Pat was employed at Brakebush and also enjoyed playing slot machines.   She will be remembered for being a huge Packers Fan and the love she had for her pets.

Pat leaves behind her husband of almost 15 years, James and two children:  Kelvin Zernia of Milwaukee and Brenda Zernia of Port Washington along with two grandchildren:  Jennifer and Brooke Lund.  She is also survived by two step-children: Kaylee Gessner of Portage and Justin Gessner of DePere, sister, Donna Briskie and other extended family members.  

Pat is preceded in death by her parents, son, Todd Zernia and brother, Donald Pointer Jr.

Honoring Pat’s wishes, private services will be held.
