Nancy Carol Shurpit, age 77 of Neshkoro passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Tuesday evening, September 15, 2015 at The Residences on Forest Lane in Montello. Nancy was born in Milwaukee to Eugene and Nellie (Harris) Dalton on June 23, 1938. After moving to Montello, she later married Ervin Shurpit at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Princeton on January 1, 1955. Together they were blessed with eleven children. Nancy greatest title was "Mom". When she wasn't caring for her family she did work for the Berlin Journal as well as other part-time jobs. Nancy enjoyed watching the birds, gardening as well as dancing. She will always be remembered for her skill of organizing the family gatherings and the memories they made together will never be forgotten. Nancy leaves behind her husband of 60 years, Ervin and ten children: Dennis of Princeton, David (Evonne) of Princeton, Gary (Cheryl) of Elgin, IL, Carol (Dennis) Guderjahn of Green Lake, Sharon (Bill) Fischer of Fond du lac, Donna (James) Hoeffler of Milwaukee, James (Marlene) of Omro, Julie (Howie) Siegle of Neshkoro, Tammy (fiancAC. John Halverson) of Vesper and Ervin Jr. of Neshkoro. She is also survived by nineteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren and seven siblings: Dorothy, Robert, Betty, June, Virginia, Jack and Barbara. Nancy is further survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Tracie, granddaughter, Jessica Hoeffler, daughter-in-law Julie, and three siblings: Thomas, Judy and Donald. A Mass of Christian Burial for Nancy will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 1211 W. Main Street, Princeton. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until the time of service at the church. Father Dale Grubba will preside and burial will follow the Mass at St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Princeton. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the family for a memorial that is being established in Nancy's name.
The family would like to thank Dr. Monaco, Nurse Donna, Nurse Kathy, The Montello Care Center and also a very special Thank You to the staff at The Residences on Forest Lane and Agnesian Hospice Hope of Green Lake for the wonderful care and complete compassion they provided throughout Nancy's stay.
