Nancy Roidt

Nancy Ann Roidt, age 85 of Montello passed away Friday, March 15, 2024 at the Markesan Resident Home.  Nancy was born in Portage to Clifton and Bernice (Laing) Thompson on May 26, 1938.  She graduated from Montello High School in 1956 and was united in marriage on August 16, 1958 to Donald Roidt at Trinity United Methodist Church in Montello.  Together they were blessed with three children and have lived in Montello their entire lives.  She was a devoted wife, mother and friend.

Nancy worked as a waitress at several of the area supper clubs and she finished her working career after 16 years as a bookkeeper at Freitag Foods in Montello.  She enjoyed golfing, bowling and will be remembered as a great seamstress and cook.  Nancy loved to travel; she traveled all over the world and in retirement, she and Don enjoyed their winters in Florida.  

Nancy leaves behind her husband of 65 years, Don and three children: Scott (Mindy) of Montello, Julie (David) Olson of Phillips and Mike (Wendy) of Brookfield as well as six grandchildren: Tessa, Steven, Lindsey (Josh), Kirsten, Kevin and Megan.  She is also survived by her great-granddaughter, Ava and other extended family members.

A memorial service for Nancy Roidt will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Trinity United Methodist Church in Montello.  Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the hour of service.   Pastor Lisa Gilbert will preside and private inurnment will take place at a later date at the Montello City Cemetery.   In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to Trinity United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 460, Montello, WI 53949.
