Michael Lon Driscoll, age 82 of Oxford passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Aspirus Divine Savior Hospital in Portage. Michael was born in Portage on August 27, 1941 and raised in Oxford, graduating from Oxford High School in 1959. He enlisted in the United States Navy at seventeen and made it a career. Traveling the world while advancing his education and performing his mission as a member of U.S naval security group, with emphasis in Cryptology and Signals Warfare. Michael proudly served his country for 25 years until retiring in 1984. He married Rosyane do Amaral Monteiro on July 12, 2008 in Gulf Breeze, Florida.
He was fortunate to see many different countries and experience many different cultures while abroad. Michael liked to play drums, cook, fish, and even spent time as a chef. Most of all he liked to see people happy and will be remembered for his optimistic attitude.
Michael is survived by four children: Steve, Tonya, Mike (Mel) and Kale, as well as six grandchildren and a special niece, Kay (George) Young.
Michael is preceded in death by his parents: Gilbert and Margaret Driscoll, daughter, Michelle and siblings: Tom, Jerry, Kenny, Gilbert Jr., Margaret, Albert and Gilda.
A funeral service for Michael Driscoll will be held on Monday, January 29, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Crawford Funeral Home in Oxford. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the hour of service. Pastor Brenda Pulver will preside and full military honors by Neenah Valley VFW Post #6003 will take place immediately following the service. Michael will be inurned at the Oxford Village Cemetery at a later date.
