Marie Kosmala, age 88 of Montello passed away peacefully after a brief illness Sunday afternoon, January 12, 2014 at Divine Savior Hospital in Portage. She was born in Chicago on October 30, 1925 to James and Georgia (Alexis) Kalamaras. She graduated from Lucy Flower High School and later married Felix Kosmala at St. Rita's Catholic Church in Chicago on May 5, 1951. Marie and Felix lived and worked in the Chicago area and in 1992, they moved to Montello. Throughout Marie's life she remained a member of the Catholic Faith; upon moving to Montello, they became members of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She was an avid bowler and also enjoyed fishing, gardening, reading as well as cooking. Marie is survived by her husband of 62 years, Felix and two sons: James (Kay) of Montello and George of Chicago. Marie is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, George. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Father David Carrano will preside and burial will follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, town of Montello. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
