Margaret O'Connell

Margaret "Marge" O'Connell, age 71 of Oxford passed away Sunday evening, September 8, 2013 at Divine Savior Hospital in Portage. Marge was born in Chicago, IL to James and Rose Battista on September 5, 1942. She attended school in the Chicago area and it wasn't until the late 1980's that she moved to Oxford. She married her friend of many years, Larry O'Connell in 2006. Marge enjoyed animals and going dancing at the VFW hall. She was also an avid bingo player, but most of all was extremely proud of her family. Her grandchildren were the light in her life and she loved them very much. Marge is survived by her husband, Larry of Oxford and two daughters: Michele (Jeff) Allen of Palm Harbor, FL and Mikalene Jones of Oxford. She is further survived by her two grandchildren: Brittney Milbratz and Parker Jones as well as other relatives. Marge is preceded in death by her parents. A prayer service for Marge will be led by Father Mike Richel at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at the Crawford Funeral Home in Oxford. A memorial gathering will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home. Inurnment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016.
