Lisa Lyss

Lisa Lynn Lyss, age 44 of Montello passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, September 2, 2014. Lisa was born in Elgin, IL on November 28, 1969 to Richard and Leah (Barrier) Pierce Sr. and was later adopted by Howard A. Meadows. She graduated from Larkin High School in Elgin in 1987 and attended UW-Green Bay and received degrees in Business Management and Communications. Lisa most recently worked for Marquette County in the Economic Support Department. Lisa was a very talented and caring person. She coached softball and was a girl scout troop leader and loved all types of music. Lisa devoted her life to her daughter, Kaylee, her family and helping others. Lisa is survived by her daughter, Kaylee and five siblings: Richard (Lorrie) Pierce Jr. of Montello, Jodie (Leo) Vazquez of Pingree Grove, IL, Melissa Meadows of Montello, Howard T. (Debby) Meadows of Coralville, IA and Winifred (Don) Romine of Pingree Grove, IL. She is also survived by her godchildren, many nieces, nephews, co-workers and friends. Lisa is further survived by the father of her daughter, Donald Lyss. Lisa is preceded in death by her parents, infant sister, Connie, brother, Arnold "Bill" Pierce and nephew, Clarence "Larry" Pierce. She is also preceded in death by her uncle, Melvin and three aunts: Shirley, Betty and Sue. A funeral service for Lisa will be held on Friday, September 5, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. at The People's Church, 3045 15th Road, Montello. Visitation will be held from 3:30 p.m. until 5:45 p.m. Pastor Mark Hensley will officiate and burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday morning at the Montello City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials for a fund to benefit Kaylee. The family has asked for all who plan on attending the service; please wear Lisa's favorite color purple.
