Linda Meyer

Linda Kae Meyer , age 69 of Oxford passed away peacefully at her home in the arms of her loving husband and daughter on Saturday, May 26, 2018 after losing her battle to ALS.  Linda was born on May 3, 1949 to Albert (Bernice) Ripley in Kenosha.  She graduated from Westfield High School in 1967 and married Erwin “Butch” Meyer on October 25, 1969 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Oxford; together they were blessed with three children.

Linda was a friendly and social person.  She enjoyed traveling and was a charter member of the Oxford Lioness Club.  Linda kept a detailed daily journal throughout her life and will be remembered for her caring spirit.  She loved her family very much and was proudest of the title, Grandma.  She will be greatly missed.

Linda leaves behind her husband of 48 years, Butch and three children: Darin (Rachel) of Waterloo, Eric (Traci) of North Fond du Lac and Courtney (Kunal) Raina of Westfield, NJ as well as six grandchildren: Avery, Colin, Riley, Adler, Sonya and Niam.  She is also survived by two sisters: Zona Head and Joan (Peter) McCallister and sister-in-law, Darlene (Randall) Burton.  Linda is further survived by nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, brother, David Ripley and two brothers-in-law, Robert Meyer and Dennis Head, nephew, Kent Head and father and mother-in-law, Chris and Lois Meyer.

A funeral service for Linda Meyer will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 12:00 Noon at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Oxford.  Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the hour of service.  Pastor Larry Sheppard will officiate and burial will follow the service at the Oxford Village Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the family for a memorial that will be established in Linda’s name.

The family would like to sincerely thank all those who offered support during Linda’s illness; whether it was a phone call, a visit or a plate of food you are all special people and words are not enough to express our gratitude.
