Linda Mays

Linda Lou Mays, age 82 of Oxford passed away unexpectedly Friday, September 1, 2023 at Aspirus Divine Savior Hospital in Portage.  Linda was born in Amherst to Martin and Laura (Johnson) Gollnick on February 5, 1941.  She graduated from Westfield High School in 1959 and married Thomas Ingram.  They moved to the east coast while he was in the Navy; together they had five children and later divorced.  Linda married Richard “Dick” Mays on October 13, 1967 in Westfield; together they had one daughter and he preceded her in death on June 24, 2010.

Linda worked for many years at Divine Savior Hospital as well as NAPA.  She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Oxford and a fixture at Frannie May’s.  Linda enjoyed farming with Dick, going to yard sales and always looked forward to Christmas with her family.  She forever had a special place in her heart for her canine companion, Tuffy.

Linda is survived by her children: Lauratta Jo (Dave) Waldron of Waupun, Terry (Joanie) Ingram of Oxford, Todd (Pam) Ingram of Endeavor, Mark (Patti) Ingram of Montello, Susan Lloyd of Oxford and Katie Mays of Oxford as well as 14 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her sisters-in-law: Dawn Gollnick, Barb Gollnick and Lorraine Gollnick, special friend, Gene Jorgensen as well as other extended family members.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son, Eric Ingram, grandson, Adam Ingram and siblings: Irene (Bob) Ruck, Harlan Gollnick, Scott Gollnick, Don Gollnick, Gerald (Judy) Gollnick and Phillip (Doris) Gollnick.

A funeral service for Linda Mays will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Oxford.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the hour of service.  Pastor Larry Sheppard will preside and private family inurnment will take place at the Oxford Township Cemetery at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to St. John’s Lutheran Church, 330 E. Vallette Street, Oxford, WI 53952.
