Linda Demke

Linda Lou (Hillmer) Demke, Homer Glen, IL (formerly of Westfield) was called to heaven on May 24, 2016 at the age of 65, peacefully comforted by her loving husband. Linda was born in Portage, WI on August 16, 1950 to Frederick and Verna (Farrell) Hillmer. She was the first child and the first daughter. Linda graduated from Westfield High School, Westfield, WI and went on to receive her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. She married her grade school classmate and love of her life, Dr. Richard Demke on August 4, 1974. They would have celebrated their 42nd Wedding Anniversary in a few months. Linda was a generous, kind, and dedicated individual who loved to travel with her husband and they made over 130 trips together, including visits to: Japan, Singapore, Europe, Mexico, Hawaii, Alaska and most of the remaining 48 states. She really enjoyed seeing new places and going on new adventures and planned to continue doing this until she was 100. She belonged to Circle of Friends and always looked forward to their meetings. Linda was very accomplished at making dining reservations and searching for the perfect new house.

Linda will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who ever met her. Linda leaves behind her husband, Richard of 41 years, sister, Cindy Sue (Tom) Jacobson of Davenport, IA, brother, Terry (Bonita) Hillmer of Harrisonville, MO, nephew, Travis (Lisa) Hillmer of Greenwood, MO, niece, Michael (Bryan) Widman of Harrisonville, MO, great-nephews: Jordan and Maddox Hillmer of Greenwood, MO, mother-in-law, Frances Demke of Montello, WI, brothers-in-law: Dr. Robert Demke of Bartlett, IL, Dr. Donald (Kate) Demke of Orlando, FL, Dr. Thomas (Marilyn Dreger) Demke of Verona, WI and Bill Demke of Montello, WI, nieces and nephews and their children: Gina (Steve) and Sophia Fanady, Chris (Joe), Jack and Peter Walker, Robert (Susan) Demke as well as many extended family and friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, father-in-law, Dr. Robert Demke and Arthur, her beloved golden retriever. Her wonderful spirit, joy and talents will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at the Crawford Funeral Home, 453 E. Park Street, Montello, WI 53949. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service. Pastor Larry Sheppard will officiate and burial will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery, town of Buffalo, Marquette County.

A memorial service will also be held for Linda on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chicago First Church of the Nazarene, 12725 Bell Road, Lemont, IL 60439. Crawford Funeral and Cremation Service of Montello and Oxford is honored to be serving the family. www.CrawfordFH.com
