Laura Lanza

Laura F. Lanza, age 93 of Oxford passed away Saturday, December 19, 2015 at the St. Clare Hospice House in Baraboo. Laura was born in Chicago to Stephen and Judith Johnston. She married Nicholas D. Lanza on July 8, 1942 at All Saints Catholic Church in Chicago. Together they raised their family in the Chicago area and retired to their home on Peppermill Lake in 1990. Nicholas preceded her in death on March 18, 2004. Laura enjoyed baking and taking care of her family. While her health allowed, she was an active member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Brooks. Laura is survived by her two sons: Nicholas W. of Oxford and Peter (Maureen) of Lombard, IL. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Seleena (Jon) Kuester and great-granddaughter, Abigail.

Laura is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Stephen (Olga) Johnston and sister, Eva (William) Girard.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Laura will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church in Brooks. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Father James McNamee will preside and burial will follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family.
