Kenny Hillmer

Kenneth “Kenny” Alfred Hillmer , age 84 of Montello passed away Monday, July 26, 2021 at his home.  Kenny was born on July 6, 1937 to Alfred and Irene (Gutche) Hillmer at home on the family farm in the Town of Shields, Marquette County.  He married Louise Schwersenska at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Montello on August 20, 1960; together they were blessed with three sons.

Kenny was a lifelong farmer in the Town of Shields.  In his free time, he enjoyed the outdoors hunting and fishing as well as snowmobiling.  He was always up for a good game of cards and driving around checking the neighbor’s crops.  Kenny will be remembered for his work ethic even until his last days and the love he had for his family.

Kenny is survived by his wife of almost 61 years, Louise and three sons:  LeRoy, Keith and Mark (Michele) all of Montello as well as six grandchildren: April (Ben), Kyle, Cassie, Brandon, Kendra and Trevor.  He is also survived by a great-granddaughter, Aria and two brothers: David and Roger (Maureen) as well as other extended family members and friends.

Kenny is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Dolores Ulrich.

A funeral service for Kenneth Hillmer will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at 1:00 PM at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Montello.  Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the hour of service.  Pastor Pete Zietlow will preside and burial will follow the service at the Shields Cemetery.
