Kenneth "Tink" Labrenz, age 74 of Oxford passed away Tuesday evening, October 1, 2013 at UW-Hospital in Madison. Tink was born at home on October 9, 1938 to Arthur and Elizabeth (Grant) Labrenz and raised on the family farm in rural Oxford. He was a 1957 graduate of the Oxford High School and after a brief stint working construction he returned to the family farm. Tink married Sharon Bean on September 26, 1964 at the First Presbyterian Church in Oxford and together purchased the farm from Tink's parents in February of 1972. Tink is responsible for the many improvements and expansion of the farm as we know it today. Tink was a horse enthusiast. When he wasn't busy farming, he was busy working and driving his horses. He and Sharon used to enjoy driving them in some local parades. Tink also enjoyed hunting and taking care of his other many animals. Tink is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Sharon and his sister, Phyllis Veldman of De Pere and his brother, Donald (Kathryn) of Oxford. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law: Judy Dalton, Shirley Bean and Pat Dencker and nephews: Owen (Donna) Labrenz of Oxford and Jeff (Carrie) Veldman of Portage and as well as many other relatives and friends. Tink is preceded in death by his parents and brothers-in-law: Sherman Bean, Richard Bean and Hal Veldman. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Oxford. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Pastor Nestor Soriano will officiate and inurnment will be private. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
