Kenneth M. Barton, age 71 of Packwaukee passed away Tuesday morning, October 14, 2014 at UW Hospital in Madison. He was born in Portage to Roy and Blanche (Werner) Barton on March 25, 1943. He attended elementary school in Packwaukee and graduated from Montello High School in 1961. Ken served his country as a member of the United States Navy. He later married Lucille Langrehr at the Lutheran Church in Portage on April 3, 1965. Kenneth was an avid outdoorsman; hunting, fishing, camping and working outside. He traveled and was also an animal lover. Ken was a longtime member and former elder of the First Presbyterian Church in Packwaukee as well as a founding member of the Packwaukee Historical Society. He was also a member of American Legion Post 351 of Montello. Ken was known as a jack of all trades and was always willing to help others. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and he will be greatly missed. Kenneth leaves behind his wife of almost 50 years, Lucille, his daughter, Rose Mary (Gary) Burckhardt of Packwaukee and three grandchildren: Renae (Allen) Bahn, Bradley Burckhardt and Lori (Ronald) Andresen, all of Packwaukee. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren: Kenneth, Howard, Dakota and Olivia. Ken is further survived by his sister, Mary Bagley, his nephew, Keith Bagley, great- niece, Nicole and great-great nephew, Tristan. Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents and nephews, Robert and Ricky Bagley. A funeral service for Kenneth will be held on Friday, October 17th at 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Packwaukee. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Pastor Brenda Pulver will preside and burial with full military honors by American Legion Post 351 of Montello will follow the service at Underhill Cemetery, town of Packwaukee.
