Kathryn Brady

Kathryn Leone Brady, age 88, formerly of Montello, passed away January 14, 2015, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis surrounded by her loving family. Kathryn was born in Curtiss, WI on May 27, 1926, to Charles and Anna Peterson. She graduated from Owen High School in 1944 and earned a Bachelor's Degree from the Wisconsin State Teachers College in Stevens Point. She taught home economics in Park Falls, WI, and was a University Extension home economics agent in Phillips, WI where she met Tom Brady, a county agent. The two married on April 2, 1956. In 1957 they moved to Montello, where Tom was Marquette County Agricultural agent for 30 years. Tom preceded Kathryn in death on June 1, 2006. Kathryn was an avid reader, Scrabble player and crossword puzzle solver. She spent much of her time volunteering. She was an active member of the Marquette County Historical Society, the Montello Women's Club and the Marquette County Homemakers Club. In 2012, Kathryn moved to Minneapolis, where she was able to be closer to family and meet new friends. Kathryn is survived by two daughters: Becky (Peter) Latner and Barbara Brady, of Minneapolis. She is also survived by three step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Kathryn is preceded in death by her parents and her son-in-law, Alan Dykema. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 21, at 12:30 p.m. at Crawford Funeral Home in Montello. Visitation is from 11:30 a.m. until the service. Pastor Jeff Radley will officiate; burial will follow at the Montello City Cemetery.
