June Conrad

June Marie Conrad, age 76 of Montello passed away Monday evening January 5, 2015 at Divine Savior Hospital in Portage. June was born in Newton, Wisconsin on March 16, 1938 the daughter of Ruth Irick. She lived and worked in the Milwaukee area; later marrying Joseph Conrad on September 15, 1984 in Milwaukee. Together they moved to Montello part-time in 1986 and permanently in 1996. June worked for the Master Lock Corporation while in Milwaukee and eventually she retired from Rayovac in Portage. In retirement, she was employed part-time at Pick and Save in Portage as well as at Good Old Days Resort on Lake Puckaway. June loved working in her garden and spending time with her family and friends. Her infectious smile and witty sense of humor will be greatly missed. June leaves behind her husband, Joe, two daughters: Patty (Kevin) Clarkson of Medford and Lorelei (Dennis) NyKiel of Milwaukee as well as four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by other family members and numerous friends. June is preceded in death by her mother and one brother. A celebration of June's life will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at the Crawford Funeral Home of Montello. There will be no formal service. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family for a memorial that will be established in June's name.
