Joseph Howard Hlinovsky , age 72 of Montello passed away on Monday, August 8, 2022 at Aspirus Divine Savior Hospital in Portage. Joe was born in Chicago on March 5, 1950 to Joseph and Eleanor (Mayers) Hlinovsky. Following graduation from high school in Chicago, Joe was drafted into the Marines where he proudly served his country. While stationed in California he married Debra Marshall, they moved to the Montello area and were blessed with two children and later divorced. He was gainfully employed at AMPI as a Forklift Operator. Joe married Lillian Rinehart and the two also later divorced.
Joe enjoyed spending time with friends and family. He was an avid card player and always looked forward to going camping, fishing and canoeing. Joe will always be remembered for his sharp wit and dark sense of humor. Joe was loved by his family and friends more than he could ever know and he will forever be missed by those who knew him best; his passing has left a hole in our lives that will never fully heal.
Joe is survived by his two children: Amber Hlinovsky of Grand Marsh and Robert Hlinovsky of Wausau as well as his step-daughter, Candi (Phillip) Pedroza of Montello. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
A Celebration of Joe’s Life will be held on Sunday, August 14th from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM at American Legion Post #351, W3008 State Road 23, Montello, WI 53949.
