John Schneider

John F. Schneider, age 62 of Montello, passed away Saturday evening November 13, 2010. He was born on January 12, 1948 in Wilmette, IL to Francis and Laura (Speiler) Schneider. John served his country as a member of the United States Army and then worked for many years as a factory worker in Batavia, IL until moving to Lake Puckaway in the early 1990's with his wife Vicki. John enjoyed watching nascar, fishing, his cats and riding his golf cart. John is survived by his wife Vicki, one son, Virgil 'Chip' (Penny) of Hanover, IL, two step-sons: Ken (Sandy) Leachman of Florida and Eric Leachman of Batavia, Il along with six grandchildren: Angel, Bobby, John, Steve, Mike, and Jayson and also great-granddaughter, Zoey. He is also survived by two brothers: Richard (Janet) of Cary, IL, Paul (Donna) of Geneva, IL and one sister, Rebecca (Tom) Arnold of Oswego, IL. John is further survived by nieces, nephews and many friends. John is preceded in death by his parents. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Crawford Funeral Home. A visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 4:00-7:00 p.m. and also on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Father Michael Richel will officiate and burial will follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery with full military honors by American Legion Post 351 of Montello.
