John L. Olbinski Jr., age 74 of Oxford passed away Thursday evening, January 30, 2014 at the VA Hospital in Madison. John was born in Milwaukee on July 8, 1939 to the late John and Blanche (Sadowski) Olbiniski Sr. He served his country as a member of the US Army from 1963 until 1965. Following his time in service, John worked for Wisconsin Dells Lumber for many years until retiring. It wasn't until March 26, 2001 that he married the love of his life, Karen Conrad in Las Vegas, Nevada. Jon enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, camping and biking with his granddaughter. He was known for riding his yellow moped around the countryside visiting his friends. John was a great family man; he took his family to many places around the United States. All the Sunday dinners and memories of being together will not be forgotten. Survivors include: his wife, Karen, four children: Roger Conrad of Wisconsin Dells, David Tushkowski of Adams, Annette Conrad of Oxford and Shawn Kluge of Packwaukee as well as five grandchildren: Tiffany, Melody, Doug, Ashley and Kelsey. He is also survived by one sister, Beverly (Robert) Stanizewski, special friend, Arlin Georgenson and many other relatives and friends. John is preceded in death by his parents, two sons: Doug and Mel, granddaughter, Leann Tushkowski as well as two sisters: Joyce (Art) Tonn and Rosie (Dick) Blada. A memorial service for John will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Oxford. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service. Msgr. John Hebl will preside and immediately following the service military honors will be performed by VFW Post 6003 of Oxford. Private family inurnment will take place at the Oxford Village Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family.
