John Becraft

John H. Becraft, age 81 of Montello passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, November 21, 2011 at Divine Savior Hospital in Portage. John was born in Columbia County, WI on April 26, 1930 to George and Ida (Labrenz) Beecraft. On September 29, 1973 he married Maureen Chickering at Trinity United Methodist Church in Montello and together they had one daughter, Surena. John worked the majority of his life as a farmer and also for various factories throughout the area. He enjoyed the outdoors; hunting and fishing as well as spending time with his family and working with their horses. John was also a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Montello. John is survived by his wife, Maureen and daughter, Surena (Josh Loring) Becraft of Montello as well as his mother-in-law, Louise Chickering of Montello. He is also survived by one brother, Howard of Pardeeville and many other family members and friends. John is preceded in death by his parents and thirteen siblings: Lena, Ernest, Chester, Emma, Clarence, Clara, May, Alice, Verna, Eleanor, George, Floyd, and Florence. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church in Montello with Pastor Dawn Helton-Anishnaabeqwa officiating. A memorial visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service.
