Joan Mydlach

Joan “Joanie” L. Mydlach, age 86 of Montello. 

To all of Joanie's family, friends, and loved ones: Joanie woke up in heaven on Thursday morning, October 3, 2024, and we can only imagine she's already the life of the party up there. Simply being herself, she always made everyone feel like they were the most important person in the room. As we all know, she would want nothing more than for us to celebrate her life.

Joanie was born and raised in Chicago, IL and graduated from DePaul University. She married the love of her life, Frank Mydlach and they had three children. Frank passed away in 1978, and Joanie went on to raise their children while facing many challenges with the grace and strength of a true superwoman. Her generous and loving spirit was a gift to everyone she met, and she cherished her many wonderful friendships deeply.

Joanie leaves behind her three children: Mark (Cindy), Renee (Gary) and Denise (Tom) Blackburn as well as four grandchildren: Frank, Dory, Jenna and Alexa.

It has been an honor to know and love Joanie, and her family would like to thank everyone who has shown their support through kind words and prayers. We plan to gather and celebrate her remarkable life in the spring of 2025. More details will follow as we come together to honor the way she made us all feel loved and celebrated.
