Jane Arbeiter

Jane Elaine Arbeiter, age 80 of Montello passed away Thursday morning, April 2, 2015 at the Montello Care Center. Jane was born on December 8, 1934 to Elmer and Viola (Klawitter) Bliefnick at home in the town of Mecan, Marquette County. She graduated from Montello High School in 1952 and went to work for the Montello State Bank. Jane married John Scanlon and together they owned and operated Scanlon's Hardware Store in Montello; he preceded her in death in 1976. Jane married Robert Arbeiter Sr. on May 17, 1980 and together they have resided in the Montello area and enjoyed life to the fullest. Jane loved to sew, spend time in her garden, hunt, fish, travel and play golf. She also liked going to the casino and spending time with her family. Jane was an active member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Jane leaves behind her husband, Robert and four step-children: Robert Arbeiter Jr. of Montello, Marion (Steve) Reese of Montello, Marilyn (Dale) Pielmeier of Hartford and David (Pam) Arbeiter of Germantown. She is also survived by four siblings: Roger (Marcia) Bliefnick, Carol (Gary) Eisenacher, Betty Kozlowski and Allen (Dorothy) Bliefnick as well as many step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Jane is preceded in death by her parents, step-father, Clarence Hoth, first husband, John as well as brother-in-law, Jerry Kozlowski. A funeral service for Jane will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening at the Crawford Funeral Home in Montello from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Pastor Pete Zietlow will officiate and burial will follow the service at Montello Eastside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred for a memorial that is being established in Jane's name.
