James Love Sr

James "Jim" Gordon Love Sr., age 89 of Montello passed away peacefully Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Harris Villa Assisted Living in Westfield. Jim was born in Harriman, TN on May 17, 1926 to Otis and Grace (Jarnigan) Love. Following high school in Milwaukee, he went on to serve his country as a member of the United States Army. Jim loved to play pool, cook and hunt and was able to enjoy his pastimes until he was 85 years old. He took special interest in new cars and loved to socialize with his buddies at the local taverns. Jim's sense of humor and one-liners will be greatly missed. Jim is survived by his son, James "Jay" (Sandy) Love Jr. of Montello and his daughter, Susan Hume of Oak Creek as well as six grandchildren: Michelle (Jeff) Clasen, Jeffrey Love, Michael Love, Kayla Conway, Meredith Krause and Steven Vasos. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren: Taylor, James, Katie, David, Ryan and Colin and two great-great-grandsons: Ryan Jr. and Bentley. Jim is further survived by his sister, Delores as well as nieces, nephews and many friends. Jim is preceded in death by Clara Love, parents, son, Randy, granddaughter, Tracy, brother, Bill as well as sister-in-law, Shirley, brother-in-law, Al and son-in-law, Todd. A funeral service for Jim will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 4:00 pm at the Crawford Funeral Home in Montello. Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until the hour of service. Pastor Mark Hensley will officiate and full military honors by American Legion Post 351 of Montello will immediately follow the service. Burial will take place at 1:00 pm on Thursday at Pine Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Milwaukee. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Harris Villa Assisted Living, N6581 Villa Parkway, Westfield, WI 53964.

The family would like to give special thanks to Harris Villa and the complete staff for their loving care of Jim for the last four and half years in which he called home.
