James "Jim" LeRoy Bush, age 67 of Montello passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at his home. Jim was born in Portage on October 31, 1947. Jim attended high school in Markesan. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam War as tank driver. He was proud to be a member of the 11th Calvary Regiment during his time in service. He married Phransay (Thome) O'Malley on March 12, 1977 in Montello; she preceded him in death on October 18, 2007.
Jim worked for Mid-State Construction as a Crane Operator and retired after over 30 years of faithful employment. He enjoyed riding his Harley, watching Nascar and camping with Phransay at Lake Petenwell. Jim also helped his family at O'Malley & Foss Greenhouse and thoroughly enjoyed deer hunting with his friends near Dalton. Most recently, he found pleasure visiting with his friends at the Trading Post in Packwaukee and being a grandpa. Jim is survived by his two step-daughters: Salley (Robert) Kuenstler of Saukville, Sarrey (Rich) Foss of Montello and step-son, Tom (Michelle) O'Malley of Montello. He is also survived by eight grandchildren: Sydney, Chris, Jarrod, Braden, Megan, Skye, Brooklyn and Charlee. Jim is further survived by two sisters: Linda Lynch and Carla Bush both of Portage as well as three nephews: Danny, Doug and Andy. Jim is preceded in death by his mother, Helen and step-father, Stan Bush as well as his wife, Phransay. A memorial service for Jim will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Montello. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Pastor Sue Oeffler will officiate and inurnment with full military honors will follow the service at the Montello City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the family for a memorial that will be established in Jim's name. The family would like to thank Raymond and Cheryl Torres, Jerry Kemnitz and Jenny from CHN Home Care for all their help and compassion through Jim's illness.
