Homer Paul Jorgensen, age 77 of Oxford passed away peacefully of natural causes on Monday, February 5, 2018 at his home. Homer was born in Poy Sippi on May 5, 1940 to Harold and Myrtle (West) Jorgensen. Throughout his life he held several different jobs but most of all Homer enjoyed being a handyman; helping others and spending time outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and also collected cast iron toys and the many model trains and bridges he built are considered family treasures.
Homer is survived by his wife, Andrea and four children: Sarah (Rick) Nelson, Jerry Jorgensen, Andrew (Kim) Jorgensen and Amber (Matthew) Kath. He is also survived by four granddaughters: Melissa (Stuart) Reed, Cierra (Jeremy) Donner, Xylina (partner Keith Tinder) Pineda and Alathea Jorgensen as well as eight great-grandchildren: Ian, Najaya and Sonya Reed; Vincent and Paul Donner; and Xiomar, Xiribel, and Xiranna Dominguez-Pineda. Homer is further survived by two brothers: Eugene and Cecil, extended family members and his feline companion, Willow who misses his daddy so very much.
Homer is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Horace and son, Steven.
A memorial service for Homer Jorgensen will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at 1:00 PM at The Seventh Day Adventist Church, 322 E. Chauncey Street, Oxford. Visitation will be held from 12:00 Noon until the hour of service. Private family inurnment will take place at a later date in the Oxford Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the family.
