Helena Mozden, wonderful wife, mother and grandmother passed away at her Packwaukee home surrounded by her family on Wednesday morning, March 27, 2013 at the age of 86. Helena was born in Poland to Jozef and Maria (Buda) Pyrek on March 18, 1927. Helena came to the United States in 1977 and in 1978 married Chester Mozden. Together they came to the Montello area in the mid 1990's. Helena enjoyed being in nature; she was an avid gardener and animal lover. Though she enjoyed her time outdoors, her family always was the first priority in her life. When her health allowed, she filled her time with cross-switching and also enjoyed cooking. Helena was an active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Montello. She will be greatly missed. Helena is survived by her husband of 36 years, Chester and 3 children: Zbygniew (Ela) Jaholkowski of Poland, Krzysztof (Danuta) Jaholkowski of Frankfurt, IL and Malgorzata (Andrzej) Zalucki of Packwaukee. She is also survived by three grandsons, five granddaughters as well as seven great-grandchildren. Helena is preceded in death by parents, two sisters and six brothers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 5, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Montello. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service at the church. Father David Carrano will preside and burial will follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Montello.
