Grace Fitzgerald-Schaeffer

Grace M. Fitzgerald-Schaeffer, age 79 of Montello passed peacefully Friday morning, July 1, 2011 at Divine Savior Hospital in Portage. Grace was born in Watertown, WI on September 6, 1931 to William and Gertrude (Grady) Fitzgerald. Grace graduated from St. Mary's at Notre Dame and later received a degree in nursing. She worked as a home health provider along with raising her family. Grace loved to get together with her family as well as travel and play golf and tennis. She will always be remembered for her kind and nurturing spirit and the way she treated others. Grace was also a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Montello. Grace is survived by her husband Frank Schaeffer and three children: Kathleen (Kenneth) Zeck of Chicago, Michael Weaver of Montello and Patrick (Dawn Leszczynski) Fitzgerald of Milwaukee as well as a grandson, Jason. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren: Victoria, Aidan, and Andrew and a sister-in-law, Marie Fitzgerald as well as many other relatives and friends. Grace is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Weaver and brother, William Fitzgerald. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Montello. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Father Michael Richel will officiate and following the traditional service, Grace will be cremated.
