Glenn Robert Meilahn, age 77 of Montello (formerly of Fond du Lac) passed away Saturday evening, August 18, 2012 at his home. He was born on January 5, 1935 in Fond du Lac to Edward and Leona (Maske) Meilahn. Glenn married Delores 'Lori' Poppe at the Salem United Methodist Church in Fond du Lac on May 7, 1960. Glenn was a self employed carpenter and later retired from the City of Fond du Lac Maintenance Department in 1999 and together he and Lori moved to their tree farm near Montello in 2000. Glenn was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Montello and its men's prayer breakfast. He also enjoyed traveling, hunting and fishing as well as the tree farm that they purchased in 1962. Glenn loved to spend time with his family and they will miss him very much. Glenn is survived by his wife of 52 years, Delores and their son Robert (L. Kathleen) and grandson, Jacob as well as their daughter, Gina (special friend Gary Gilgenbach) Meilahn, all of Rosendale. He is also survived by his sister, Lorraine Byrnes and many friends, especially close friend and neighbor, Don Morrical. Glenn is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Edward in WWII and Clarence. He is also preceded in death by in-laws, other relatives and many dear friends.
