Glen Willkomm

March 29, 1940 — November 24, 2020

Glen C. Willkomm , age 80 of Packwaukee passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at The Montello Care Center.  Glen was born at home in the Town of Packwaukee on March 29, 1940 to Arthur and Bernice (Pugh) Willkomm.  He attended Packwaukee Grade School and Oxford High School and went on to serve in the Army National Guard.  Glen was a founder and charter member of the Packwaukee Historical Society where he served as treasurer for a number of years.  He was a proud member of The Mayflower Society as a descendant of Miles Standish and a member of the Sons of the American Revolution. Glen carved exquisitely detailed duck decoys for many years as well as a member of Ducks Unlimited.  He also wrote a series of articles for the Marquette County Tribune about growing up in Packwaukee. Glen played guitar and loved hunting, fishing, and trapping.  For the last six years, Glen attended the Marquette Community Church in Montello.  Spending time with his daughter on Saturdays as she grew up was very important to Glen and later in life spending time with his grandchildren also.

Glen is survived by his daughter, Kimberly (Justus) Spillner of Montello, two grandchildren: Nicole Spillner and Justus Chase (Elizabeth) Spillner and two great-grandchildren: Justus Caleb and Lillian.  He is also survived by his brother, Allen of Packwaukee and several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

Glen is preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Willkomm.

Glen Willkomm will be laid to rest at the Underhill Cemetery, Town of Packwaukee with private family services and full military honors.  A public Celebration of Life will be held at a later date when it is safe to gather.
