Gerald Fleming

Gerald Robert Fleming, age 68, of Montello passed away Monday, August 16, 2010 at Berlin Memorial Hospital after a long courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Jerry was born to Orville and Henrietta (LeNoble) Fleming on February 6, 1942 in Little Chute, WI. He valiantly served his country in the United States Navy, and on January 2, 1965 he married Ann Biesterveld at St. John's Catholic Church in Little Chute. Jerry retired to the Montello area in 2003 after working over 30 years in the paper industry. He loved to fish and spend time on the lake, as well as mowing his lawn and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Jerry was also an active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Montello. Survivors include: his mother, his loving wife and four children: Wendy (Michael) Golden of Oshkosh, Todd (Brandy) of Little Chute, Melissa (Sean) Casper of Oshkosh and Terri (Robert) Verhagen of Little Chute. Nine grandchildren: Hendrik, Kade, Breck, Nathan, Sarah Ann, Katie, Cody, Kayla and Alicia. Siblings: Barbara (Joe) Romaine, Patricia (Cal) Welch, Jean (Don) Hauter, Alan, Thomas (Vicki), and Kevin (Manny). Jerry is also survived by brother and sisters-in-law: Ray (Liz) Biesterveld, Therese (Ron) Coenen and Rosie Kramer. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, dear friends and the many foster children he cared for over the years. Jerry is preceded in death by his father and siblings Dean, Wayne, Gordon and Janice Ulman. He is also preceded in death by sister-in-law Joyce Biesterveld and father and mother-in-law, George and Alegonda Biesterveld. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday August 20, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Montello with Father Michael Richel officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Friday at the church. Full Military Honors will be preformed immediately following the service by Legion Post 351 of Montello. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family. A special thanks goes out to all the hospitals and hospital staff members for all your care and support through Jerry's battle with cancer.
