George Przybyla

George Joseph Przybyla, age 92 of Montello passed away peacefully, early Wednesday morning, July 24, 2013 at the Montello Care Center. George was born and raised for most of his adult life in Milwaukee, where he married his sweetheart Marian Kozbiel on November 13, 1946. He retired and they moved to Montello in 1984. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Montello, where he participated in many extracurricular activities. One of his favorites was playing the concertina in the "Recycled Teenagers Band" and he also played for the senior citizens at local nursing homes in the area. George was a proud sports fan and a lifelong Green Bay Packers fan! George was very close to his grandsons and supported them in all their sports activities around the country. He was an avid reader and in his earlier days quite a swimmer and high diver. George was a longtime Teamster belonging to Local 200, and drove an "over-the-road rig" for many years. George will be missed by many friends and family members. George leaves behind his wife of 66 years, Marian of Montello and son, Alan (Kathleen) of Algonquin, IL and two loving grandsons: Scott (Summer) and John (Donna), both of Illinois. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren: Jourdan, Tiffany, Quade and Mikael as well as his sister, Rita Olteswig and many nieces and nephews. George is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Emily (Hapka) and siblings: Raymond, Edward, Lorraine and Mary Jane. A Funeral Prayer Service will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Montello. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Father Dave Carrano will preside and following the traditional service, George will be cremated. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family for a memorial that will be established in George's name.
