Fritz Ernest Siegenthaler Jr., age 72 of Montello (Lake Puckaway) passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, March 15, 2016 at the VA Hospital in Madison. Fritz was born in Rewey, WI on June 2, 1943 to Fritz F. and Edith (Mohlman) Siegenthaler Sr. He graduated from Le-Win High School in Lena, IL in 1962 and went on to serve his country as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Fritz married Margaret Cannova on June 10, 1966 in Winslow, IL. Fritz worked for Moore Business Forms in Monroe, WI for 29 years as a printing press operator until moving to Lake Puckaway permanently in 1997. While in Montello, he worked for Glen Oak Milling and Lumber for 12 years until retirement. Fritz was an avid sports enthusiast, both watching his Wisconsin sports teams as well as playing competitively. He enjoyed fishing, boating and doing yard work. Fritz will be remembered for always helping others and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Fritz is survived by his wife, Margaret and two sons: Fritz A. (Staci) and Mark, both of Montello and one step-son, Tim (Donna) Veer of Freeport, IL as well as two grandchildren: Talor and Conor, step-grandson, Jeremey and step-great grandsons: Daylain and Jase. He is also survived by two sisters: Kathy (Bob) Luedy, Linda (George) Rabe and two brothers: Bill (Barb) and Bob (Peggy) as well as brother-in-law: Barry Cannova and sister-in-law, Gina (Jackie) Robinson. Fritz is further survived many extended family members and friends. Fritz is preceded in death by his parents and step-grandson, Jason. Private family services will be held at a later date. Inurnment will take place at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Freeport, IL. Crawford Funeral and Cremation Service of Montello and Oxford is assisting the family with arrangements. www.CrawfordFH.com
