Frances Mason

Frances E. Mason, age 91, of Beloit formerly of Packwaukee, died Sunday morning, September 5, 2010 at the Beloit Memorial Hospital. She was born on March 13, 1919 in Richland Center, WI to the late Frank and Jennie (Blackman) Sawyer. Frances married Harry 'Shorty' Mason on March 23, 1940 in Dubuque, IA; he preceded her in death on October 14, 1983. Frances was a fun loving person; she enjoyed her many adventures with Harry; she also enjoyed traveling, playing bingo as well as fishing and camping. She loved the color purple and most of all she loved spending time with her family and will be greatly missed. Survivors include two children: Linda Lashley of Janesville and Raymond (Leila) of Beloit, nine grandchildren as well as many great and great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends alike. Frances is preceded in death by her parents, husband and son, William. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home, 453 E. Park St., Montello, WI 53949. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Pastor Marv Rowe will officiate and burial will follow at the Douglas Cemetery, Douglas Township, Marquette County.
