Emma Vesecky

Emma E. Vesecky, age 71 of Montello passed away peacefully after a lengthy battle with cancer at her home, early Friday morning December 7, 2012. Emma was born in Berwyn, IL on June 23, 1941 to Jacob and Francis (Stroop) Wilhelm. She was raised in Cicero, IL and on August 29, 1964 she married Rudy Vesecky at Mary Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Cicero; Rudy preceded her in death in August of 2007. Emma was mom to everyone and will be deeply missed. She collected bells and thimbles and enjoyed traveling and playing bingo. Emma was a very hard worker throughout her entire life. She was a very caring person and felt truly blessed the day she and Rudy found Montello. Emma leaves behind her son, Jeffrey and grandson, Kaleb both of Montello. She is also survived by her brother, Don of North Carolina and her sister, Linda of Pennsylvania. Emma is further survived by her sister-in-law, Georgianna (Les) Werhniak and their children: Chris (Lee), Ray (Jody) and Bob (Carrie) as well as Dad's best friend: Ed (Henrietta) Patla and their children: Margaret and Ed as well as best friend, Nancy and adopted children: Tom (Eileen) Amelio, Bill (Linda) Bridges and Tim Gulianio. Emma is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Rudy as well as brother-in-law, Bob Vesecky. A funeral service for Emma will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Montello. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 11th from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home and again on Wednesday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Pastor Pete Zietlow will preside and following the traditional service, Emma will be cremated. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date at the Montello City Cemetery.
