Elda Riedel

Elda Edith Riedel, age 81 of Montello went to be with our Lord Wednesday, January 4, 2017. Elda was born on July 30, 1935 to Edmund and Lydia (Lucht) Brandt at home in Hillpoint. She graduated from Lime Ridge High School in 1953 and married the love of her life, LeRoy Riedel on October 8, 1955 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hillpoint. Together they were blessed with six children. Her life was dedicated to serving the Lord with music as an organist and a choir member as well as serving others through the Ladies Aide and taking care of her family. Elda is survived by her husband of 61 years, LeRoy, three daughters: Teressa (James) Jensen, LuRae (Michael) Monday, Rose (David) Trentin and three sons: LeRoy Jr. (Beth Stephens), Charles (Maria), and James (Rebecca). She is also survived by ten grandchildren, two great-granddaughters and her sister, Elvira Moon. Elda is further survived by her brother-in-law, Arold Hamburg and many nieces, nephews and friends. Elda is preceded in death by her parents, grandchildren: Billy and Sadie, sister, Estrella Hamburg, brother-in-law, Earl Moon, sister-in-law, Juanita Moon and niece, Debbie Viljevac.

A funeral service for Elda Riedel will be held at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Packwaukee. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the church. Pastor Larry Sheppard will preside and burial will follow the service at the Hallman Cemetery, town of Harris. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church, 418 Chestnut Street, P.O. Box 628, Packwaukee, WI 53953.
